It's Cookin' Thyme! Top 3 Tips for Fresh Organic Herbs to use with Circle C Farm Meats

Fresh herbs are the unsung hero of cooking. They bring flavor and depth to every dish. Rosemary and thyme are two of our favorite herbs to cook with, and they are featured in many of our recipes. You can buy “Fresh From Florida” herbs at the store or find them at a nursery and grow at home. Watch our DIY Herb Planter video to learn how.

Here are our top 3 kitchen tips for fresh herbs:
  1. When shopping for fresh herbs, look for vibrant color, no bruising, and a strong aroma when pinched between your fingers.
  2. Wash herbs right before use by dunking them in a bowl of water. Remove hard stems from before chopping and roll into a ball. This will help make the fine chopping process easier.
  3. To extend the life of your herbs, keep them wrapped in a damp paper towel in the refrigerator or place cut stems in a glass of water.
